Squid Configuration

• Before Starting the cache for the first time configure it.

  • Using adduser create a user squid to own the cache (the cache should not run as root)
  • change the ownership of the /usr/local/squid/cache and /usr/local/squid/logs to be owned by the squid user
  • edit the file
    • /usr/local/squid/etc/squid.conf
